NEW SINGLE - "Clockworks" released 30th August 2010
Thursday 29 July 2010
Ben Heyworth (AKA This Morning Call) has produced an album of staggering beauty, and Clockworks is the second single to be taken from the critically aclaimed debut.
A beautiful, down tempo, modern pop ballad, Ben seemlessly fuses together electronic and classical musical instruments. The single and its B-side, Space In The Day, are impossible to listen to just once: full of character and genuine melody.
Fresh from remixing the likes of Kylie Minogue and Sugarbabes, the single also includes an incredible new club version from Bitrocka, turning the laidback original into a massive dancefloor anthem.

"Clockworks " animated film wins award and features in an international film festival...
Thursday 8 July 2010
As we approach the "official" release of the new single "Clockworks" in August, news reaches me that Lisa Risbec's fantastic animated film which accompanies the original track has won an award!
Roots to Shoots are a not for profit short film night that promotes new filmmaking and creative talent. Nights are based in Coventry and Leamington Spa every month and this competition was launched to unearth new talent from across the UK. Clearly they have succeeded in that aim!
Lisa's film has also been accepted into the "Born Shorts" international film festival in Denmark. This 2-day festival takes place on the Bornholm Island on the 27/28 August 2010 and features some of the best new short films, animations and music videos from around the world. "Clockworks" will be screened on three big plasma screens in the bar area every evening. http://www.bornshorts.com/
You can see the video itself over on our "media" page, or if you prefer, on You Tube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAGozHSllCs

New dance collaboration with Riley and Durrant!
Monday 26 April 2010
Following their recent collaboration with indie act Council Estate Supermodels, Riley & Durrant return for another genre-busting track, this time joining forces with Mancunian electronic pop producer, This Morning Call. The resulting track, “All I Leave Behind” also features remixes from studio wizz kid Mark Maitland and breakthrough house producer Ant Brooks.
Riley & Durrant have got off to a flying start this year, already having productions signed to labels like CR2 and Juicy Music, and tracks supported from a wide range of DJs including Armin Van Buuren, Laidback Luke and Axwell.
This Morning Call is the unusual moniker of singer/songwriter Ben Heyworth. His productions mix traditional indie styles with electronic quirks, glitches and ambience. Recently signed to Substream, Sweden’s finest independent record label his debut album “All Quiet At 4AM” is slated for release on CD and digital formats on 29th March 2010. Channel 4 Music recently said This Morning Call were “one of the most wonderful acts we have heard this year.”
“All I Leave Behind” is a broody, moody and darker diversion for Riley & Durrant but with it’s relentless funked-up bassline and synth stabs that would be at home in the likes of Cocoon, it’s sure to feature in the sets of some of the worlds biggest DJs this summer.
Early feedback from Laidback Luke – Wow, I really like this!

2. Discodonk & Sid Templer Remix
3. Council Estate Supermodels Remix

More Radio excitment....
Monday 8 March 2010
Mr Tom Hingley of Inspiral Carpets fame picks This Morning Call as his favourite new manchester act on this weeks "Manchester Music" show on BBC Radio Manchester. Here's the blurb:
"Got a headache? The dull aching ears ringing kind? Light hurting your eyes? Why, you must have been out last night! We hope it was a great Saturday night whatever you were up to and if you missed Manchester Music as a result you can listen again all week on the fabulous iplayer. We had the pleasure of Mr. Tom Hingley, formerly of top Manchester band Inspiral Carpets, now a successful solo artist with the band The Lovers, in to pick his top five manchester tunes. Yes, our latest victim is an honourary Manc with great stories and great taste".

A weekend of acoustic shows...
Friday 5 February 2010
This weekend sees a first for TMC - I'll be stepping out in the guise of an acoustic artist and playing some stripped back, guitar driven shows for the first time ever. A bit of a departure for an artist normally associated with mellow electronic pop!
Saturday 6th Feb - A return to an old favourite, its GREEN BOHEMIA @ THE GREEN ROOM, Whitworth St., Manchester. FREE ENTRY. I'll be playing a special set on the guitar with my friend and colleague, Nigel Barrow on Cello.
Sunday 7th Feb - Listen online from 3pm to Manchester Radio Online:
The show is called ' Its All Gravy' and airs every Sunday afternoon from 3-5. It is usually presented by Danielle Porter, although sometimes not. The show is a popular slot for bands to perform live sessions. Most recently they had Dennis Jones, The Travelling Band and the Paris Riots all feature. Marvellous.

BBC Radio Manchester - Interview
Tuesday 19 January 2010
Hot on the heels of the January tour, I have been invited into the BBC Radio Manchester studio on Sunday 24th January for an interview on the popular Introducing show.
The show, hosted by Sam Walker, has been really supportive of TMC so far, having played a number of tracks and listed me as "one to watch" for 2010. The interview goes out live at about 11pm on Sunday, and will also be available on the iplayer for UK internet users, for seven days following broadcast.

Tour Supports Announced
Wednesday 6 January 2010
The January tour is nearly upon us and I am delighted to announce the following support bands will be joining us:
Jan 14th, The Deaf Institute, Manchester -
ESKIMO COWBOY
Beginning life acoustically as a three-man nucleus two years ago, Eskimo Cowboy has snowballed into a 14-legged wall of sound, 20 if you count the three horn players which appear for a couple of songs. I'm not sure how many of these many legged beasts willbe turning up on the night, but at least the weather will be right for them, being eskimos.
KRISTYNA MYLES
Since winning Busker of the year in 2005, Kristyna Myles has been pretty darn busy recording and touring Europe with Chris de Burgh (!) and writing and recording her debut album. She was also recently nominated for a MOBO.
THE FUSILEERS
The Fusileers are led by front man Jimmy, who has a soulful yet soft vocal accompanied by some soothing acoustic melodies to create some very 'hairs on the back of the neck' style songs.
Jan 16th, Proud Galleries, Camden, London
THE COLLECTABLE FEW
The Collectable Few was born in West London in 2008. With influences ranging from Radiohead and Blur to Peter Blake and Stanley Kubrick, the four-piece deliver a fervent slice of paranoid new-wave pop with multilayered melodies and dance-worthy beats. They have a debut single scheduled for release through XL imprint Salvia.
YOUNG BRITISH ARTISTS
Young British Artists are a 4-piece outfit from Manchester. They play noisy melodic indie rock and have so far managed to play with HEALTH, The XX, Lovvers, Asobi Seksu, Times New Viking and The Drums. Good for them!
Jan 17th, The Latest Music Bar, Brighton
JENNY STANLEY
This beautiful acoustic singer will be bringing her big melodies and amazing voice to the Latest Music Bar as part of our Southern Sunday Session, as I'm calling it.
We also hope to be showcasing some young local talents from the Brighton area with the support of the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. I am just in the process of deciding who gets the slot from the many emails I've received from students over the past 24 hours. It will be a tough decision.
